Apple’s new products break all-time pre-order records!
Apple launches the much awaited iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on 19, September 2014. The models will be available in the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, France, Germany and the UK. The response to this launch has been so overwhelming that pre-orders for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have outpassed a whopping 4 million in the first 24 hours after the announcement for the pre-orders. Infact, these two new models have broken all the previous pre-order records set by iPhone. It is not just the pre-orders but most of the Apple stores across the US have already reported that they are witnessing a long queue of customers outside their stores eager to get their hands on the new iPhone 6.
Why so much buzz and frenzy surrounding the iPhone 6 release? Why are many reviewers claiming that iPhone 6 is going to be the best phone by far? – Well, first and foremost, both models are bigger than iPhone 5s. iPhone 6 comes with a 4.7 inch screen and the Plus model comes with a 5.5 inch screen. Both provide a much larger display to users for browsing the web, watching videos or performing tasks.
Other reviewers claim that the call quality of the new models is excellent with much improved battery performance. iPhone 6 can last as long as 24 hours without charging, when used continuously. The battery back-up is slightly less in the plus version, around 15 hours, owing to its bigger size. The Wi-Fi speed is much faster. The speed of both the new models is almost double the Wi-Fi speed of iPhone 5s and it is about 25% faster than that of Samsung Galaxy S5.
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have been significantly redesigned to make them more attractive than the previous models-iPhone 5s and 5c. Both devices have ultra thin unibody aluminium enclosures. iPhone 6 is 6.9mm in thickness while the Plus version is 7.1mm thick (iPhone 5s is 7.6mm thick). Both the models are slender, sleek and look pretty elegant.
iPhone 6, also, has very good video capabilities. While the default setting for video is 1080p, 30 frames per second (fps), users can select ‘settings’ and change it to 60 fps. The resulting video has an almost ultra-real look. The screens too, are attractive. The screen of iPhone 6 is 1334 x 750 pixels (326 dots per inch), and that of iPhone 6 Plus is 1920 x 1080 pixels (401 dpi), which is full high definition.
In addition to the exciting features, the new models provide a new service called Apple Pay. Apple Pay lets you buy goods in stores or online via the phone. This service is due next month. This feature is only available in iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple’s forthcoming smartwatch.
Apple’s CEO Tim Cook should be elated as iPhone 6 is the first product that he has overseen from the start to finish, as the CEO of Apple. He can proudly claim that iPhone 6 is a critical success.
In a recent announcement, Apple has mentioned the names of 20 countries where the sale for the new iPhone models will begin on 26, September 2014. These countries include Austria, Russia, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Spain, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Turkey, Taiwan and New Zealand.
